Forums for members

Forums let members discuss topics in different categories.

You can use them, for example, to raise study-related topics, offers of (side) jobs, rooms for rent, or questions about certain materials.

Adding a forum

In the main menu on the left you will find the heading 'Forums'. Clicking it gives you an overview of all existing forums. Before you can add a forum, you need to create a category. You do this on the Forums page with the button Add forum category. If there is already a category, you will find that button under New.

Then you can add a forum: choose a category and a name, and tick who the forum is visible to. You can set the order by dragging the forums. As with all modules, you need to create a webpage and link the module 'Forums' to it.

If a logged-in member is not allowed to see any forum in a category, it shows "You don't have access to the forums in this category". Anyone who is not logged in sees "Log in to view forums in this category".

Anyone with access to the forum can start a new topic and post a message about it. Others can reply to it and (depending on your settings) leave a rating.
