Access to the Congressus API

You manage your own apps and API keys in the new interface of Congressus Manager. Go to Settings > Apps.

Every app has a unique API key. An API key is linked to its own user. By editing that user's user group, you decide which permissions the API key has. Read more about user groups and permissions in Congressus.

Note: the API key is sensitive information! Anyone with this key has access to your association's data. Always protect it and never share it with the users of your application. So don't put it in a mobile app or a single-page application (JavaScript), for example. If Congressus has indications that your API key has become public, we will disable it immediately.

Renew API key

Want to replace an API key, for example because it has leaked? Open the app via Settings > Apps and click the Renew API key button under Credentials. After you confirm, the app gets a new API key straight away. Its permissions stay the same. The current key stops working immediately, so replace it in every application that uses it.
